2013 Bretton Woods Analysis of GPR Cards

Bretton Woods issues their fourth annual Analysis of General Purpose Reloadable Cards report which looks at the average consumer costs associated with utilizing general purpose reloadable (GPR) prepaid cards (issued by highly regulated financial institution, bearing network brands of Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express), and good wherever these brands' debit cards are accepted, low balance checking accounts and services for cash-based lifestyles.
This year the report compares the costs of basic checking accounts, general purpose reloadable prepaid cards, and using cash, to conduct a basic level of financial transactions based on the Consumers Union suggested transaction pattern.
