Why Join?

NBPCA delivers benefits of unique value:

  • Exclusive focus on network branded prepaid cards. NBPCA exists only to support the growth and development of network branded prepaid cards; these products receive our full attention.
  • Inter-industry constituency. NBPCA represents and brings together players in the network branded prepaid card space, regardless of their specific role in the industry. This cross-industry participation is essential because initiatives to move prepaid forward do not originate from any single segment. To make progress in prepaid, a diverse group must have a seat at the table—including industry segments not traditionally associated with financial services.
  • Member focused. NBPCA’s only objective is to advance the industry based on the needs of members. We encourage members to communicate with us to provide both facts and opinions.
  • Up-to-date information. Our Government Update electronic publication delivers the latest news on federal and state legislation/regulation and litigation right to members’ e-mailboxes.
  • Government Relations Working Group meetings. NBPCA employs leading attorneys who are national experts in prepaid/electronic payments. Members receive the benefit of their unique perspectives during working group meetings throughout the year, including briefing sessions during which members' pre-submitted questions are addressed. This access makes it easy for members to stay on top of issues as they develop and provide a reality check on their in-house efforts.
  • Media and Consumer Education Working Group meetings. This working group, led by an experienced public relations professional, focuses on the ongoing task of influencing consumer perceptions of network branded prepaid cards by serving as a responsive and reliable resource to the media. The Working Group's proactive orientation also includes placing articles on prepaid topics in a variety of media and following up with reporters, as appropriate.
  • Accountability. Each working group has a business plan that includes objectives and deliverables and is responsible for keeping members informed of its activities.
  • Government relations. NBPCA’s government relations efforts are strictly focused on prepaid-related issues. Members have the opportunity to contribute to the NBPCA’s collective opinion, which can leverage or expand their organization’s individual efforts. In addition, we invite members to participate with NBPCA staff in face-to-face meetings with key agencies, regulators, and law enforcement.
  • Board participation. Every member has equal opportunity to be nominated to the Board of Directors and to serve.
  • Networking. Attendance at NBPCA events puts members in contact with people who work exclusively or almost exclusively in prepaid cards—expanding their base of colleagues and presenting the opportunity for pursuing important business opportunities.
  • Working groups. NBPCA working groups are designed to address specific, timely issues facing the prepaid industry. The groups have both objectives and deliverables and are accountable for following through and keeping members informed. We encourage members to actively participate in working groups.

Member Dues

NBPCA's annual member dues are $25,000 per organization. The dues structure and amount may be revised by the NBPCA Board of Directors.

NBPCA Founders’ Circle

The NBPCA’s Founders’ Circle is an elite group of industry leaders committed to advancing the future of the network branded prepaid card industry in a positive way. As founders of the NBPCA, they are confirming their organization’s leadership in the industry and collaborating with industry colleagues to create an environment in which network branded prepaid cards can flourish.

Founders’ Circle members make a significant financial commitment—$75,000, $100,000, or $150,000—to enable the NBPCA to continue to develop its working group infrastructure, begin addressing industry-identified priorities, and position the Association to assume a significant role in supporting the growth and success of network branded prepaid cards. Contributions at these levels include annual member dues for one, two, and three years, respectively.

Founders’ Circle members hold a seat on the NBPCA Advisory Board, which has the responsibility, in conjunction with NBPCA management, to nominate the Association’s initial Board of Directors.
